More than a school... more than a ministry
At Advent Lutheran Elementary School we strive to develop the whole child. Our mission statement sums up our philosophy succinctly when it says in part that the school endeavors "to facilitate the positive development of the Spiritual, mental, social, physical and emotional characteristics of each child entrusted to its care." This is our calling, and it is the basis for all we do.
It is the melding of strong academics with the tenets of Christianity that results in something quite powerful-- a young person equipped with the skill, ability and character to succeed in life and make a difference. A Christian education is unique in that it provides the student not only with a diverse program of study, but enhances it with a foundation in the teachings of the Holy Bible that ensures a truly well-balanced person.
Martin Luther wrote, "The prosperity of a country depends, not on the abundance of its revenues, nor on the strength of its fortifications, nor on the beauty of its public buildings; but it consists in the number of its cultivated citizens, in its men of education, enlightenment, and character; here are to be found its true interest, its chief strength, its real power." At Advent Lutheran Elementary School, this is our objective and why we say that we are 'More than a School... More than a Ministry'.
