February A Good Month For Education If you will notice there is not a lot going on in February. This is one of the best months for teachers and their classrooms. The students have the daily routine and procedures down and the focus can be even more on their class work. There are fewer distractions like holidays and special events which makes it easier to concentrate on their schoolwork. It may seem like the winter doldrums, but it is a great time for learning.
OPEN HOUSE Sunday, January 31, 1- 3 P.M. It looks like all is set and ready to go. Thanks for all the hard work folks. Share this info and invite anyone you hear of who is looking for a school for their child. Word of mouth endorsement is one of the most effective ways of bringing in more students who will get to hear the Word of God every day.
RE-ENROLLMENT It is good to see that some of you have already sent in your re-enrollment papers. If anyone needs forms or more information to make a decision, just ask. I will gladly answer any questions you may have.
HAITI RELIEF Plans are being made to give the students an opportunity to help the people of Haiti. More info will come out soon. We will be doing school kits through Lutheran World Relief. Of course, this is totally voluntary and if they are already doing something through a different agency, don’t feel pressured to do this too.
PTL MEETING February 3rd, 7:00 P.M. We have a lot of projects in the works and your input is greatly appreciated.
JOHN CARROLL SCHOOL FAIR For Sunday February 28th, 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. we have purchased a table to advertise Advent Lutheran Elementary School. One or two teachers will be there to attend to the display and answer questions. It would be good if a couple parents would also be present to give their insights about the school. I think it would be helpful if the time was broken up into two or three different shifts. As the time approaches, please let us know if you would be interested in helping out with this event.
The Worms Were Fun Your child learned a lot about pollution and how it affects the environment. They did a number of experiments with worms which demonstrated the need to be good caretakers of the earth so that it stays in balance. They also learned that every facet of the ecology is important and none should be overlooked.
For Future Plans No school on Monday February 15th , Presidents Day.
