October 15 and 16 -- No School – teacher in-service days.
A permission slip for the field trip is being sent home today. Friday, October the 23rd will be a full day of school. Uniforms are not required. Students should dress in layers to accommodate the change of temperature throughout the day. Shoes should be appropriate for farm environment – muddy treks into the pumpkin patch.
Media permission slip attached. Please return to your child’s teacher if you are asking for restrictions of any kind.
Giant A+ Bonus Bucks Program—This program began Oct. 9. If you haven’t registered your card to designate our school to receive points, please do. Go to www.giantfood.com/aplus and use our school ID#04550 to sign up. Anyone who registers a card before the end of Oct. will have purchases made from Oct. 9 to present count towards our point accumulation. At last check, we have 49 cards registered! Thank you to all participants!
Target, Giant Foods, Box Tops, Campbell Soup Labels… invite your family and friends to help us and share the info you got at PTL to show them how.
Box Tops for Education—The first deadline for the first submission of Box Tops is October 31st. If you have any Box Tops to bring to school, please place them in the box in the entryway or have your child place them in the classroom collection box before 10/31 so the program coordinator can submit them. The next deadline submission is Feb. 28, so keep on saving those Box Tops!
October 17th “Fall Fun Night”: Sponsored by the fellowship committee of Advent Church for young and old of CDC, ALS, and church all together. Bring the kids and enjoy a hike, story telling and singing around a bonfire, roasting hot dogs and more. See sign up sheet on the News and Notes board outside the principal’s office.
Change Is Made! ! Library will be on Thursdays now. We still need help. Sign-up sheet is in the library. Stop in and sign up and you will be contacted about procedures. If you have questions before you sign up, call Martha Bickel at 410.661.1028 or 410.402.4248.
H1N1 immunization - not here yet. Keep checking www.harfordcountyhealth.com to see when they will start. We encourage you to protect us all by getting the shot or the spray for your child. It will be given out free of charge in several places and on different dates.
Don’t forget your envelopes on Wednesday to support the Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots. We are helping Native Americans from the remote reaches of Canada hear about Jesus.
ALS Open House Nov. 8th. Hope you can find the time on that Sunday to help.
Nov. 12th – Slime Time demonstration for the students from the Maryland Science Center- Traveling Science Program. Hands on experiments to test whether polymer is a solid or a liquid.
