Preparing students for today, tomorrow and eternity

Friday Blue Notes

December 4, 2009

Christmas Program We look forward to seeing the students give glory to God for the original Christmas gift of our Savior, Jesus Christ on December 9, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. The students have been working hard to give their best to Jesus. This is not a performance as much as it is an act of worship. Pray that we all grow closer to Jesus through the students’ message.

Elf Shelf December 16th and 17th in the afternoon. For our new parents, the PTL has collected a variety of items for your children to buy as Christmas gifts. The items are priced low enough so that it doesn’t break the children’s piggy bank. All items are under $2.00. So don’t peek into their book bag on those days or you might see your Christmas gift before you’re suppose to. They will have two opportunities to “shop” once each day. If you want to donate any items, please get them in soon. Be sure your child knows what you are donating so you don’t get it back again as a gift.

Gift Tree This is our opportunity to help families who otherwise would not have gifts at Christmas. Please stop in and take a paper ornament off of the Christmas tree in the school lobby. On it you will find a description of a gift that has been asked for and the child that requested it. This is a great way to teach your child what Christmas is really all about.

H1N1 The county health department has contacted us. But when they found out how few students we had who still needed the shots or mist, however, they asked us to come to their future clinic instead of bringing it here to Advent. They informed us that there will be a clinic the week of December 14th. It will be by appointment and there will not be the long lines that have been the case in the past. To find out about times and procedures, go to www.harfordcountyhealth.com.

Box Tops and Labels – Keep them coming. Visit your friends and neighbors to deliver your Christmas greetings and collect the labels and box tops at the same time. Lots of cooking during the holidays so the labels and box tops should be flowing in.
