Friday Blue Notes
April 30, 2010
PTL with Art and Book Fair - Our next meeting is on the 5th of May at 7 PM. It is the last one of the year and will include the election of officers for the 2010-2011 school year. Come and see the projects Mrs. Mattes will be displaying of the art work of the students. See note below concerning the book fair.
Flea Market - Reserve the date - June 5th. The committee decided it will be held rain or shine. In case of rain it will move indoors, using the hallways and classrooms for the vendors and the sanctuary for the food and music. You may want to rent a table yourself and get some cash for the stuff you haven't used for years. I hope you will be able to donate some time and energy to make this a real success. Be sure to tell everyone you know about our plans for the day so lots of people attend and have a good time. Pray for good weather.
End of Year Field Trip - June 2nd is now the locked in date. We have reserved a 55-seat passenger bus and made reservations at Port Discovery. We are still waiting to see what will be showing at I-Max. Students and their parents or parents' substitutes are all invited. Students are paid for through their activity fee. Adults will pay whatever the cost comes out to be. Time of the show at the I-Max will determine how much time we spend at Fort McHenry. We will keep you posted.
Book Fair - The BOGO (Buy One-Get One Free) book fair is May 3rd through the 6th. Get ready for the summer with books that will keep your student interested in reading.
Mission Project - Our collections in chapel are for a school that is being built in Liberia, 90 miles from Monrovia. It will cost $10,000 to complete the school. This will make it possible for over 150 students to have a place to be educated and also learn about Jesus and His forgiving love. We are joining with all the other Lutheran schools in Maryland to make this school a reality.
Upcoming Dates - Friday May 7th - 12:30 dismissal; Thursday May 6th and May 20th - Hot Lunch.
