Friday Blue Notes
May 21, 2010
Flea Market - Saturday June 5th, Rain or Shine; in case of rain it will move indoors. This project is really taking off. We are starting to get requests for spaces, we have rummage stuff from the church, some nicer things for silent auction, the ice cream has been donated by Klein's, many of you are donating time and talents to make this a great success. Be sure to tell everyone you know about our plans for the day so lots of people attend and have a good time. Keep praying for good weather.
End of Year Field Trip - Wednesday, June 2nd. We have reserved a 55-passenger bus and made reservations at Port Discovery from 10:00 to Noon and the I-Max for the afternoon showing. The film is the latest 3-D "Shrek" movie. Plan on packing a disposable lunch that does not need to be kept cold and all containers can be thrown away. I think for ease of spotting our students, and creating a sense of unity, "school dress" for the students would be nice.
Mission Project - Our collections in chapel are for a school that is being built in Liberia, 90 miles from Monrovia. It will cost $10,000 to complete the school. This will make it possible for over 150 students to have a place to be educated and also learn about Jesus and His forgiving love. We are joining with all the other Lutheran schools in Maryland to make this school a reality.
